We are actively recruiting for our tenor and bass sections. A membership waiting list is currently in operation for soprano and alto voices although this is currently full due to overwhelming demand.
We are normally able to accept new members singing any voice, of any age and from any background, including people who are thinking about taking up singing again after not singing for a while. There’s no audition to go through, and you’re welcome to try out a rehearsal or two before committing yourself.
- Practise and perform with a friendly, enthusiastic and diverse group
- Develop your sight-reading ability
- Learn to sing with greater confidence and artistry
- Join in European tours and Islington events, concert trips, parties – or just the Tuesday night ‘après sing’ in the local pub
We usually accept new members at the beginning of each of our sessions (winter, spring, summer). Come and try it for a week or two and then pay your money in person at the rehearsal.
Details of membership, fees and our few rules are, not surprisingly, on the Members Info Page. You can find details of rehearsal and concert dates by looking at the Rehearsals page linked at the top of this page.
Athough some ability to read music is useful, it isn’t essential; nor is previous experience of choral singing. More important is a love of music and a capacity for enthusiasm and commitment. The choir is a friendly group of about one hundred and forty people of all ages and from all backgrounds.
Please fill in this form if you’d like to join the choir. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can with details of how and when you will be able to start singing. If you don’t know which voice part you fit into, don’t worry, leave it blank and we can sort that out later.
